After a drubbing at the hands of Albany on Saturday, SU fell out of the top 10.

Syracuse (1-1) took a nosedive this week in the Inside Lacrosse Poll, falling from No. 7 to No. 16 after losing 15-3 at home against then-No. 4 Albany (1-0).

Syracuse started the season at No. 11 before rising to No. 7 following a 21-4 win against Binghamton in its season opener.

The home loss against the Great Danes was the Orange’s worst home loss since a 19-6 defeat against Cornell in 1987 and marked the first time SU scored just three goals in the last 27 years.

The dip to No. 16 is the Orange’s lowest ranking since March 1, 2013 following the team’s first loss to Albany in program history. The Orange then beat Army and Virginia to move back into the top 15.

SU faces the same situation now as its next two games come against Army at home and on the road against Virginia.
